We are looking for an experienced 8a Clinical Matron for the Emergency Department at Wexham Park Hospital, with extensive experience in Accident & Emergency to join out team.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a dynamic, innovative and evolving team and who is experienced in all areas of emergency medicine.
The post holder will have clinical and managerial responsibility for a defined clinical portfolio at Frimley Health Foundation Trust. The Matron will also have a defined set of relevant requirements specific for the core area of responsibility. The post holder will report directly to the Head of Nursing.
The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the relevant setting. They will be easily identifiable to clients and users, provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required. Emphasis on the areas of Patient/Client Safety, Patient Experience, User engagement and Clinical Outcomes will be essential.

Clinical Leadership for the Emergency Department.
• Provide leadership for their teams. Provide support to professionals, nursing staff, and care support workers within the service areas
• Clinically competent in all areas of emergency medicine and able to undertake all nursing skills with an ED.
• Lead developments in practice consistent with the patient care priorities set nationally, locally. Development of new roles or service redesign will take place in line with best practice and evidence-based.
• Address the concerns of patients and service users and respond to their suggestions for local quality improvements. Lead the effective resolution of complaints where appropriate and any subsequent learning, liaising with the Risk Management Department and the Patient Experience Team as necessary.
• Work with clinical teams to provide appropriate staffing on both a daily and longer term basis. Work to empower frontline staff, enabling them to consider changes / developments including skill mix review.
• To ensure the service areas facilitate the patient’s journey to be effective as possible.
